Cree couple in front of Aksiigan

Description

Unidentified Cree couple sitting in front of traditional winter dwelling known as an Askiigan. The walls were made out birch or spruce logs and filled with moss to keep in the warmth. The roof was also made of longs. Notice the stove pipe protruding out of the roof. The traditional toboggan and snowshoes, the tools of trapper can be seen on the left side of the dwelling.
