Winter hunting camp with the traditional teepee dwelling
Description
A winter hunting camp with the traditional teepee dwelling packed with snow around the base to keep heat inside. Spruce or Balsam boughs were placed on the ground inside the teepee for flooring and protection against the cold from the ground. A rack made of poles outside was used to hang harvested animals and meat to keep out of reach of martens or foxes during the night.Tags
